IS NON-REPRESENTATIONAL ABSTRACT?
There is not a painter who does not carry around with him his imaginary museum – consciously or unwillingly.
I would like to broaden the term „imaginary museum“ beyond the pictures from impressions and influences of a knowing and evaluating person since childhood, with those of experiences, landscapes, situations, books, people, oceans, philosophies, moods, continents, contrasts, conceptions, agonies, sources, sounds, fairy tales, dreams, screams, caresses, wars, glances, universes, hills, fields, terrors, ponds, patches, joys. All of this, painfully organized through logic – and at the same time driven with triumph and blocked by fear – creates the painting. Is non-representational abstract?
